Donegal Coastal Tours

Donegal Town, Co. Donegal, Ireland               Telephone Andy at (087) 2620670

Our Basic Tour includes:

Killybegs

We make our way to the town of Killybegs. One of the busiest fishing ports in Europe, the summer time is the best time to visit, as all the big vessels are docked for the summer. We drive up the Teelin coast road to one of the most impressive photo opportunities in Donegal.

Slieve League

One of the most spectacular sights in Ireland. Standing 601m (1972 ft) above sea level we can just simply drive up to the car park and look straight across at the highest sea cliffs in Europe.

Glencolmcille

Time for another little bit of culture. We can visit the Fr. McDyer’s Folk Village. The village is made up of a group of cottages, each one representative of period in Irish history dating back to the 18th Century.

Glengesh Pass

We journey through the beautiful bog lands of South Donegal stopping for a photo opportunity at the panoramic Glengesh mountain pass.

And back through Ardara to Donegal Town.

Other Tours Include:

Glenveagh National Park lies in the heart of the Derryveagh Mountains in the northwest of Co. Donegal. It is a remote and hauntingly beautiful wilderness of rugged mountains and pristine lakes. The site occupied by the Castle and Gardens was wild mountain moorland. In 1869 the first part of the Castle was constructed. However it was not until the mid 1880's that the Gardens were started. The two major elements of the Garden, the Pleasure Gardens and the Walled Garden were constructed in the late 1880's. The original Victorian Garden layout remains intact.

The Giant’s Causeway is situated on the North coast of Ireland about two miles north of Bushmills. The Causeway is an area of approximately 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, the result of an ancient volcanic eruption - however the legend is more convincing for those who prefer a more colourful story. The story tells that the Giant’s Causeway was built by “Finn McCool” as a walkway to fight the Scottish giant “Benandonner”.
